Tour Plan

Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora via Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

The Marrakech to Zagora Desert Tour crosses the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m), to reach the Ait Ben Haddou village, the fortified Ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. We will visit it and have our lunch in one of the local restaurants. Afterwards, we will head to the Draa Valley, crossing the second pass, which is Tizi N’Tnifift at 1710m and the former route of caravans for Sahara traders coming from “Tombouktou”. We will have the opportunity to explore the biggest palm grove on our way to Zagora. There we will take a camel trek, ride the camels at the sunset and get to our Zagora desert camp.

Day 2: Zagora Tizi N’Tichka to Marrakech

Awaken to the serene beauty of a desert sunrise. After a nourishing breakfast in the tranquil expanse of the Sahara, you’ll embark on a morning camel ride. Later, explore Ouarzazate, a city famed for its cinematic landscapes, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch and have the chance to explore the historical Taourirt Kasbah.

As the afternoon sun casts its golden hues over the land, your return to Marrakech takes you once more through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, a route renowned for its breathtaking vistas. The journey concludes as the day wanes, with your arrival in Marrakech scheduled for the early evening, around 19:00 in the summer or the slightly cooler 20:00 in winter. This 2-day desert excursion offers a seamless blend of adventure, culture, and panoramic beauty, promising to be a highlight of your Moroccan travels.
